Democratic Representative Attacks GOP Opposition To Amnesty, Compares It To Pro-Slavery Segregationists

On what bizarro world does Rep. Clyburn live on? I mean, seriously, has he forgotten what the Democratic Party has done to his people over the decades? Then again...

...the Democrats' are now in the minority - pardon the phrasing there - so why should we care what he says?

School Time: Jet-Propelled School Bus Travels 367mph

Quoting PJ Media: Never be late for school again. School Time is a jet-powered school bus that travels over 300 mph. What does this 42,000 horsepower bus tell Trifecta about American education and ingenuity?

...there are no words here... *laughs uproariously at the humorous lessons in American ingenuity shown in the above video*

Code Pink Activists Crash Veterans' Concert

Do these people - and I use that term loosely - have no sense of decency?

Excerpt: Veterans Day is when millions of Americans thank US service members who have served to protect our freedoms; they volunteered to protect the country so we don’t have and therefore there are no words to describe such patriotism.Nevertheless, the far left could not keep their mouths shut since Code Pink decided to crash the Concert for Valor yesterday.

MRCTV’s Dan Joseph was there to ask these anti-war protestors why they were being so annoying at this venue. After all, thanking veterans is as bipartisan as you can get, unless you write for Salon.

One gentleman described himself as a veteran, but when asked by Joseph which war he fought in, he said he was a veteran of the “Cold War” and the Reagan administration. Joseph asked another Code Pink activist if the veterans who died in the Iraq War were heroes; she refused to answer.(Townhall)

FWIW, Code Pink can go jump off a cliff...or they could take the first slow-boat to the Ninth Circle of Dante's Hell, either one.

European Space Probe Successfully Lands On Comet

Another mark in man's exploration of the heavens was completed earlier today with the landing of an ESA space probe on an orbiting comet:
The drama played out 317 million miles from Earth as a small robotic lander released from the European Space Agency's $1.7 billion Rosetta probe touched down Wednesday on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, the first such landing in history. After a seven-hour descent, the Philae lander gently collided with the slowly tumbling comet, possibly bouncing off and then settling to a second landing a short distance away, officials said.
Or maybe not. It was not immediately clear what happened during landing, where the Philae spacecraft ended up or how stable it might be in Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko's feeble gravity. But mission managers said the otherwise healthy lander was making science observations as programmed and engineers were optimistic about figuring out its status in the coming days.
In the meantime, Jean-Jacques Dordain, director general of the European Space Agency, urged the media and the public to give engineers time to study the data before jumping to conclusions.
"We landed, and Philae survived the landing," he said. "We have landed at the right place -- on the right comet, don't worry! -- and we have got the radio link, which is obviously very important, and we have the power on board. So when you have the link and the power, you collect data, and this is what our colleagues are doing.
"Now, the data have to be analyzed," he cautioned, adding that engineers were only a few hours into diagnosing events happening several hundred million miles away. "I wish that we are careful, because we are just at the beginning of something which will last (a) long (time) and again, we have time. Now we have just to work."(CBS News)
Congratulations to the European Space Agency on today's accomplishment!

Bill Whittle's 5 Conservative Principles

.....two thoughts here as I watch this video: (1)he's right; these are solid principles to live by...and (2)to borrow the quote, "I'm home." After wandering around in the political wilderness, I'm home.

Orion's Rocket Ready For Maiden Flight At The Cape

Universe Today: Orion’s Rocket Ready to Rock n’ Roll for Critical December Test Flight

Say whatever you want about America's manned spaceflight program under President Obama, but it is always good to see the program continue on, as evidenced both by the picture above and by the news below:
The huge rocket that will blast NASA’s first Orion spacecraft into orbit is ready to Rock ‘n’ Roll on a critical two orbit test flight scheduled for December. And Orion is so big and heavy that she’s not launching on just any old standard rocket. To blast the uncrewed Orion to orbit on its maiden mission requires the most powerful booster on Planet Earth – namely the United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket.
Liftoff of the state-of-the-art Orion spacecraft on the unmanned Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1) mission is slated for December 4, 2014 from Space Launch Complex 37 (SLC-37) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Just days ago, the launch team successfully completed a countdown and wet dress rehearsal fueling test on the rocket itself – minus Orion – at launch complex 37.(Universe Today)
Basically, the test they performed at the Cape was a full, mock launch - testing everything from the fueling procedures to be used, to performing electronics and guidance testing to emergency procedures to be used if necessary - basically, everything that could be tested was tested.

The only thing missing: the Orion spacecraft itself, which will be mated to the Delta IV Heavy in the next couple of days, with launch of the Exploration Test Flight (EFT-1) scheduled for early December.

Student Group Loses Funding Over Conservative Values

...whatever happened to the 1st Amendment, Virginia Tech?
In the wake of a standing room only event with conservative leader Bay Buchanan on the topic of immigration, the Virginia Tech Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) Chapter has been informed that they will not receive funding for the next two semesters.(Breitbart)
Long story short: YAF invited conservative speaker Bay Buchanan - former U.S. Treasurer and sister to political commentator Pat Buchanan - to speak on the issue of illegal immigration, a perfectly legitimate and very hot-button political issue. By all accounts, the event went peaceably well....however, once Virginia Tech officials found out about it, well...
Apparently, the discussion on immigration with the former Treasurer of the United States irked some liberal administrators at Virginia Tech. The Student Budget Board contacted Lauren to tell her that her club would not be funded for the next two semesters because her event “violated the principles of community.” ... ... ....
Finally, Lauren set a meeting with the Student Budget Board, and they explained to her that they “had an issue” funding the event in the first place because the speaker was Bay Buchanan. Max Frischman, the head of the Student Budget Board (who didn’t attend the event) told the YAF Chapter that if they had known the topic was going to be immigration—something that “would create a problem on campus when there isn’t one—they never would’ve approved the funding for it.”(Breitbart)
Now, I might not be the sharpest tool in the political toolshed, but what are the odds that if they were a liberal-leftist group, not only would their funding be upheld but there would be nary a peep out of unversity officials over their choice of speaker...I mean, it's not like they brought a cop-killer to speak at a commencement function, right?

For those who serve, for those who have served and for those who've sacrificed all in defense of this great country, thank you.

Obamacare Architect: Stupid Voters Would've Killed Obamacare

You know, its' one thing for fact-checkers to say that someone lied about something, but its' a whole other thing for one of the architects' of Obamacare to admit that they lied about it:

Quoting: This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. Okay, so it’s written to do that. In terms of risk rated subsidies, if you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in – you made explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed… Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical for the thing to pass… Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.

There are no words here...

Report: Championship Tarheel Team Took 25 Bogus Classes In '04-'05 Season

Remember the 2004-2005 North Carolina Tar Heels? You know, the team that won the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament? Well...while they dominated on the basketball court, they were seemingly absent from the classroom:
The biggest question surrounding the so-called “paper class” scandal in the North Carolina athletic department is whether or not it will have an effect on the 2005 or 2009 national titles that the Tar Heels won(NBC CollegeBasketballTalk)
This is an important point: other teams (and individuals) w/in the NCAA have lost championships and awards over lesser stuff than bogus classes...will UNC be next?
Things got worse this weekend, as Dan Kane — a report for the News & Observer who has been all over this story since 2011 — is reporting that the Tar Heels’ 2005 national title team had 35 credits worth of phony classes during the 2004-2005 school year. Nine of them were in the fall semester and 26 were in the spring, when North Carolina ran through the NCAA tournament.
According to the Wainstein Report, at least five players took as many as three bogus classes that spring. Rashad McCants has already admitted to taking a full course-load of fake classes, getting straights As and keeping himself eligible to play after a poor fall semester. (NBC CollegeBasketballTalk)
Now, one could look at this and think its' an isolated case...but given the high-pressure nature of collegiate sports over the past few decades, this doesn't surprise me at all. Question is, will the NCAA do anything about it? Only time will tell...

"Lie" - The Obamacare Song

...this is funny as hell...and sadly true at the same time. Remind me again why, as screwed up as the previous system was, we had to go and change it like they did? Anyone...anyone....Bueller?!?
