Seared Music: The Psychedelic Furs - "Dumb Waiters"

...as I listen to this, I can see why the show-writers for the AMC series Halt & Catch Fire included this in their Joe MacMillan Spotify Playlist - to wit, this is a damn good song by a damn good early 80's band, period, full stop. *adds deadpan* Now if Season 2 of HCF would just get here....

Marco Rubio's Defense Of Israel

...my respect for Marco Rubio just went up a few notches after hearing this; I also think he just laid down a good marker for GOP candidates going into the 2016 presidential election...

Obama Administration Tracking Details Of Visits To Federal Websites

Is there anything these bastards' don't track?
At 11:23 a.m. on Thursday, 150,980 people — more than the population of Alexandria, Virginia — were browsing U.S. federal websites. Five thousand of them visited an IRS.gov page called “Where’s my Refund?” Another 2,091 were checking forecasts on Weather.gov.
These stats come from a new dashboard tracking user behavior on federal websites — what they’re looking at, what device they use, as well as their browser and operating system. The White House’s U.S. Digital Service, along with two General Services Administration’s tech teams, 18F and the Digital Analytics Program, launched the site Thursday.
Created over the course of two to three weeks, the site debuted during Sunshine Week, a national effort dedicated to government transparency.
The data could help federal digital service teams focus on the “services that matter most to the American people” by helping government agencies “understand how people find, access and use government services online,” a White House blog post announcing the site said.(NextGov via. Weasel Zippers)
Here's a suggestion for Washington: instead of tracking things such as this, how 'bout y'all start tracking all the billions of dollars you idiots spend...

U.S. To "Reevaluate" Relationship With Israel Following Netanyahu Victory

Is it just me or has Israel just become a partisan issue in American politics?
Despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's attempts to backtrack from hard-line statements against the establishment of a Palestinian state, the White House on Thursday pointedly raised the prospect of withdrawing crucial diplomatic cover for Israel at the United Nations.
Earlier Thursday, Netanyahu denied he had abandoned his commitment to creating a Palestinian state, but said current political conditions made that possibility more remote."I don't want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution. But for that, circumstances have to change," Netanyahu said in an interview on MSNBC, appearing to back away from comments he made during the Israeli election campaign that drew heavy US criticism.
"Steps that the United States has taken at the United Nations had been predicated on this idea that the two-state solution is the best outcome, said spokesman Josh Earnest."Now our ally in these talks has said that they are no longer committed to that solution. That means we need to reevaluate our position in this matter, and that is what we will do moving forward."(Ynet News)
For the U.S. to seemingly signal that it would abandon one of its' longest relationships with another country - especially a country such as Israel, the Middle East's one stable liberal democracy - is yet another sign of just how broken Washington has become...for what it is worth, it wouldn't bother me in the least anymore if Israel were to go tell Obama & Co. to go pound sand.

Is The Obama White House Trying To Sink HRC?

It wouldn't surprise me for two reasons: (1)there's still a ton of bad blood between the Obama & Clinton camps dating back to the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, when Obama essentially usurped HRC, who many - myself included - thought would be the next Democratic nominee (most people didn't have BHO on the radar screens back then) and (2)given how far to the Left the modern Democrat Party has traveled in recent years, there's a good chunk of the party that doesn't want to go back anywhere near the center and they'll countenance anything that helps them stay firmly anchored to the Left.

Mat Staver: Second American Revolution Needed To Stop Gay Marriage

With all due respect, Mr. Staver, since when did your right to religious liberty trump mine and other Americans' right to be treated equally before the law?
In a radio interview this weekend, Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver called on states to defy a Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality if it goes “the wrong way.”
“What we could have is the Supreme Court issuing its decision on marriage the wrong way, and Alabama saying, ‘Goodbye, get out of my state, that’s not what’s going to happen to my state,’” Staver told anti-LGBT pundit Linda Harvey, adding that he hopes Texas will also flout such a decision.
The Religious Right legal activist went on to insist that California’s Proposition 8, the gay marriage ban that was struck down by the federal courts, “still is applicable” in most of the state. “They have no legal authority to issue those same-sex marriage licenses,” he claimed.
Staver said that people should prepare to commit civil disobedience if same-sex marriage becomes legal, pointing to the example of a North Carolina magistrate who is refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples and offering an extremely twisted account of a controversy involving Catholic Charities in Massachusetts.
“Go back to the days of Martin Luther King Jr., go back to the days of the American Revolution,” Staver said. “I think it’s that serious.” (Right Wing Watch; Soundcloud audio of Staver's remarks)
I think HBHM's Alvin McEwen said it bestTo paraphrase Mrs. Howell on Gilligan's Island, "what does one wear to a second American Revolution?"
My response to him would be: Probably something with the word "loser" on it.

Another Obama Fail...

Remember that time Obama's minions went to Israel and tried to defeat Benjamin Netanyahu? Well, a funny thing happened on the way to that effort:
JerusalemPost reports a triumphant Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Likud supporters in his victory speech early Wednesday that he would aim to form "a strong, stable government" that would tackle "security and socioeconomic challenges."
Netanyahu told a jubilant crowd of Likud supporters early Wednesday morning that "against all odds, we have scored a major victory for the Likud."
"Hail, hail, Bibi," Likud adherents chanted as Netanyahu took to the podium on Wednesday.
"We have scored a major victory for the nationalist camp headed by Likud," Netanyahu said. "I'm proud of the Israeli people because at the moment of truth they knew to differentiate between challenge and nonsense and they took up the challenge," the prime minister said.(Jerusalem Post via. The Last Tradition)
...and the likely reaction of the Deluded Left?
...enough said.

The Left Admits One Of Its' Mantras' Was A Lie

Give WaPo's Jonathan Capeheart credit for being brutally honest here: the whole "hands up, don't shoot" mantra following the shooting of Michael Brown, was built on a lie...now if the Deluded Left would just own up to its' lies concerning things such as "climate change", "Trayvon Martin", "Republicans hate minorities", "Republicans hate gay people", "the Right's supposed War on Women", "Voter Suppression", etc.,etc.,etc...

They are not to do anything they please to provide for the general welfare, but only to lay taxes for that purpose. To consider the latter phrase not as describing the purpose of the first, but as giving a distinct and independent power to do any act they please which may be good for the Union, would render all the preceding and subsequent enumerations of power completely useless. It would reduce the whole instrument to a single phrase, that of instituting a Congress with power to do whatever would be for the good of the United States; and as they would be the sole judges of the good or evil, it would be also a power to do whatever evil they please...Certainly no such universal power was meant to be given them. It was intended to lace them up straightly within the enumerated powers and those without which, as means, these powers could not be carried into effect. - Thomas Jefferson, Opinion on National Bank — 1791

HRC Dodges Question Over State Dept. Separation Form

Its' a simple yes-or-no question, Hillary: did you sign the OF-109 separation document upon your departure from the State Department? Her answer....what?
Hillary Clinton ignored a question from Fox News Channel's Ed Henry on Monday asking whether she signed a separation statement when she left her job as secretary of state. If she signed the document, but kept her email on her own private server for two years, she could be guilty of a crime, some observers have argued.
Henry caught up with Clinton walking into an event at a Manhattan hotel.
"Hello, Madame Secretary. Did you sign the separation statement before you left State? Did you sign that statement?" he asked. Clinton, who was surrounded by staff members, didn't answer. She smiled and waved to Henry and said, "Hi! How are you?" (Newsmax)
Yeah, she went there, trying to brush it off like a Good Clinton would...now, most people would blow off a question like that but there's a catch here: the OF-109 separation form essentially asks whether you've returned all documents, classified or not, back to the State Dept. prior to leaving. If, as reports seem to hint at, she signed it and kept her private email server - itself a violation of federal law - then the possibility could arise that she broke the law there by keeping emails that should've gone into the federal archives. If, on the other hand, she didn't sign said document, that is also a felony known to the average person as lying under oath (a/k/a perjury); regardless of what happened, she's either broken federal law or violated procedures and that could - potentially - have ramifications on the 2016 presidential election.

All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without his Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without his Aid?" - Benjamin Franklin, To Colleagues at the Constitutional Convention
