And This Is A Bad Thing How Again?

Once again, the left-wing dingbats over at Vox Media have shown themselves to be complete and utter idiots when it comes to the world around in point: their bemoaning of how technology and online streaming has democratized media in recent years and taken the proverbial "gatekeepers" out of the loop (referring to video stores and such)...

My question is: how is the end of the video store a bad thing, Vox? If anything, it is frankly liberating - to use a liberal term - to be able to have numerous choices of things to watch. If I want to, I can turn the TV on and watch something; if I'm in the mood for it, I'll go online and binge-watch episodes of "Bosch" on Amazon Prime or maybe watch early-season episodes of "Magnum P.I." over on Hulu. This is not a bad thing, Vox; if anything, this is a victory for how technology and the internet have essentially democratized media in America and freed consumer choices from the virtual chains of video stores, networks and Hollywood execs.

Of course, we should remember that Vox is also the place that once opined that the American Revolution was a mistake, so what the hell do they know about the world and how it works anyway?

Seared Music: Steve Winwood - "Talking Back To The Night"

.....I figure, since its' the end of the year, we might as well dig out a few more good songs to round out the year that was...

Is College Really For Everyone?

Now, I know I'm not the smartest tool in the proverbial toolshed, but I do know this: if, after 12 years of public education, you cannot get the word "major" spelled right, should you even go to college? Case in point...., major's a word one should probably have mastered back in...oh, I don't know, 3rd-grade or so, which makes me wonder how in the hell the genius above made it through those 12 years of schooling? To quote the words of USWNT star Alex Morgan....."Seriously?!?"

As riches increase and accumulate in few hands, as luxury prevails in society, virtue will be in a greater degree considered as only a graceful appendage of wealth, and the tendency of things will be to depart from the republican standard. This is the real disposition of human nature; it is what neither the honorable member nor myself can correct. It is a common misfortunate that awaits our State constitution, as well as all others. - Alexander Hamilton, speech to the New York Ratifying Convention — 1788

Seared Music: The Guess Who - "No Time"

....remind me once again how music today is supposedly better than it was in the past?

Is Franklin Graham Pushing For An American Theocracy?

To read his statement following his departure from the Republican Party, it sure as hell sounds like it...
Franklin Graham will, effectively, follow in the footsteps of his pals like the American Family Association and their David Lane, who heads AFA's American Renewal Project, to sire an army of Christian pastors to take over America! "Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble. I want to challenge Christians, even pastors, across the country to pray about running for office where they can have an impact. We need mayors, country commissioners, city council members, school board members who will uphold biblical values." (The New Civil Rights Movement)
America's doing pretty good at the moment, Reverend Graham - even with the Wanker-in-Chief running things at present (....please let a Republican win in 2016, God...) and the last thing we need frankly are a bunch of theocrats running things; if that's how he wants things to do, why dont'cha' move to Iran, Reverend Graham?

*adds deadpan* ...oh, wait, wrong religion there....whoops. Maybe Franklin Graham should take a page from The Man himself....quoting the NT:
Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. (Matthew 22:21, KJV)

Such will be the relation between the House of Representatives and their constituents. Duty gratitude, interest, ambition itself, are the cords by which they will be bound to fidelity and sympathy with the great mass of the people. - James Madison, Federalist No. 57 — 1788

Seared Music: Motorhead - "Ace of Spades"

....another music legend is now one with the ages....

Donald Trump Turns Up Attacks On Hillary Clinton

....given this current generation's views on consent, sexual assault and everything surrounding those issues, this could actually wing Hillary the Queen Bitch some...
All wasn’t peaceful and quiet over the holidays, at least not as far as Donald Trump is concerned. The Republican presidential front-runner ramped up his attacks against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton and is now turning his attention to her husband, former President Bill Clinton. But the Clinton campaign is pushing back.
The former Democratic president has a “terrible record of women abuse,” Trump tweeted this morning. (ABC News)
Now, why is this important? Well, given her husband's history, her touting of women's issues smacks of hypocrisy and is something that should be attacked at every possible opportunity; hopefully, Trump won't be the only Republican to go after Hillary along these lines as the campaign moves along.
