I am not influenced by the expectation of promotion or pecuniary reward. I wish to be useful, and every kind of service necessary for the public good, become honorable by being necessary. - Nathan Hale, remark to Captain William Hull, who had attempted to dissuade him from volunteering for a spy mission for General Washington — 1776

....now, ask yourself this: would you prefer the 12 on the left or the 12 on the right? I suspect most people would say the twelve on the right (and I suspect that includes most gay people as well...)

Responsibility, in order to be reasonable, must be limited to objects within the power of the responsible party, and in order to be effectual, must relate to operations of that power, of which a ready and proper judgment can be formed by the constituents. - Alexander Hamilton and James Madison, Federalist No. 63 — 1788

....Well, given how the Donald is nothing more than a bombastic, braggadocious sonuvabitch, this actually doesn't surprise me...
Now, I know what you're thinking: why slag the GOP front-runner? Well, even though I'm relatively new to being a conservative, even I can spot a blowhard idiot and the Donald is that in spades; while I'm not surprised that he's skipping the upcoming debate, I'm surprised that Fox News hasn't said anything in turn towards him....which makes me also wonder if the Donald isn't nothing more than a bombastic, braggadocious coward who isn't willing to face those he doesn't like (such as certain Fox News individuals)...frankly - and with all due respect to my fellow conservative - I hope the Trumpster's campaign crashes & burns.Donald Trump did it again. With less than 150 hours before the Iowa caucuses, Trump thrust himself squarely into the center of the political conversation and the news cycle with his surprise declaration that he would boycott the final debate before voting begins in Iowa.Trump has blustered about boycotting debates multiples times before but never followed through. But the rhetoric Tuesday from Trump and his campaign team was, by far, the sternest and most forceful to date.Ted Cruz, Trump’s chief Iowa rival, immediately challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate, as his aides and supporters tried to get the hashtag “#DonaldDuck” trending on Twitter. At a combative press conference before a rally here, Trump said he wouldn’t participate in Thursday’s Fox News showdown because co-moderator Megyn Kelly is biased against him, and because he found Fox’s response to his concerns childish.“Let's see how they do at the debate,” Trump said. “Let's see how many people watch.” (Politico)
....couldn't happen to a nice bunch of domestic terrorists....
....it'll be interesting to hear what the circumstances were that prompted the authorities to act like they did, but at least they got these thugs off of the streets...now if they could've gotten Cliven Bundy for what happened back in Nevada a few years ago, that'd been good as well...The leader of a group of armed protesters occupying a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon was arrested Tuesday, law enforcement officials confirmed to Fox News. There was a gunfire exchange at the time and there are injuries, according to officials. The arrest of Bundy as well as two others was made by the FBI and Oregon State Police, officials said. The protesters were heading to a public meeting in two cars about the a demonstration in the town of John Day, Ore. when there was an interaction with law enforcement on Highway 395 in Oregon. The Harney County Hospital in Burns, Ore. is on lockdown as a result of the incident. (Fox News)

....to quote Gay Patriot: Who knew Alabama (in the 1950's) was on the cutting edge of Progressive thought?
....and yet people still think Republicans' are the racists? Who the hell are they kidding?
It is a duty certainly to give our sparings to those who want; but to see also that they are faithfully distributed, and duly apportioned to the respective wants of those receivers. And why give through agents whom we know not, to persons whom we know not, and in countries from which we get no account, where we can do it at short hand, to objects under our eye, through agents we know, and to supply wants we see? - Thomas Jefferson, letter to Michael Megear — 1823
