Monty Python Star To Stop Performing On College Campuses Due To Growing PC Trends

Gee, thanks, safe spacers for continuing to ruin political discourse and good comedy on American campuses once again...
John Cleese said he will no longer perform or give talks at university campuses because political correctness has taken over.
The Monty Python star revealed that he has been advised not to perform to students as the fear of offending has expanded so far that any kind of criticism is now seen as "cruel".
Mr Cleese said it is down to people who cannot control their emotions, so seek to control others, and worries that it could lead to a society like that in the iconic dystopian Orwell Novel.
Although he is best known for his work as Basil Fawlty, Mr Cleese also has a strong business pedigree and as the co-founder of Video Arts, a business training programme, has over the years provided talks on the subjects of business and psychology to students, using his technique of making people laugh.
In a video for The Big Think, he explained: “I’ve been warned recently not to go to university campuses because political correctness has been taken from being a good idea, from ‘let us not be mean particularly to people who are not able to look after themselves very well’, to the point where any kind of criticism of any kind of individual or group can be labelled cruel. “The whole point about comedy is that all comedy is critical.” (Daily Telegraph)
That last line there should say it all about how bad the PC "I'm offended!" fascist culture has become on college campuses; if you cannot handle anything that causes you to think or react to something without getting offended over it, maybe college isn't the place for you...

The fundamental source of all your errors, sophisms and false reasonings is a total ignorance of the natural rights of mankind. Were you once to become acquainted with these, you could never entertain a thought, that all men are not, by nature, entitled to a parity of privileges. You would be convinced, that natural liberty is a gift of the beneficent Creator to the whole human race, and that civil liberty is founded in that; and cannot be wrested from any people, without the most manifest violation of justice. - Alexander Hamilton, The Farmer Refuted — 1775

Obama Visits Anti-Gay Mosque, Lavishes Praise

Ever since Obama's 2009 Apology Tour stop in Cairo, Egypt, the Wanker-in-Chief has made it a point to mewl and grovel before Mohammedans at every opportunity...yesterday was no exception as he traveled to a Baltimore area mosque to grovel once more in front of the Mohammedans, one which has numerous ties to various radical Islamist groups and individuals....

...but yesterday's speech grovel-fest should be especially galling to Americans in light of the fact that the mosque he spoke at yesterday, the Islamic Center of Baltimore, has a record of anti-gay bigotry that could give the Westboro Baptist Church a run for its' money...
Being a homosexual “is an immoral act, it is a shameful act, it is despised act, it is haram, it is forbidden in Islam, completely, absolutely, from the Koran, the Hadith [recorded statements from Islam’s reputed founder, the leader Muhammad) and by consensus of the scholars from the beginning of Islam,” says Imam Yaseen Shaikh, who was hired in  to serve as the head of Islamic teaching or Islamic “scholar” for the Islamic Society of Baltimore and its nearby Al-Rahmah school. (Breitbart via. Gay Patriot)
Now, ask yourself this question: should this matter to the Gay Activist Wing of the Deluded Left? It should, but since Mohammedans are a "protected" group in the U.S., they'll get a pass...but it should be a matter of concern for gay people here in the U.S. - and throughout the Western World, for that matter - because a good number of the people at that Islamic Center sympathize with radical Islamists, some of whom have been known to do stuff like this...

....to gay people in parts of the Middle East...once again, repeat after me: Hypocrisy, thy name is Barack Hussein Obama.

....note to self: start looking for a mental filter...heck, any mental filter, before I eventually say something I'll regret in the future...

Founder's Quote, 3 Feb. 2016

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between church and State. - Thomas Jefferson, letter to a Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association, Connecticut — 1802

Phil Robertson: "Rid The Earth Of" Gay Marriage Supporters

.....even though the long-haired Duck Dynasty bigot tried to couch his words in religious language, isn't this still considered incitement to violence?
While stumping in Iowa for Ted Cruz on Sunday, “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson declared that gay marriage is a sign of growing “depravity” and “perversion” in America.
Robertson, notorious for his racist and anti-gay remarks, said of marriage equality: “It is evil, it’s wicked, it’s sinful and they want us to swallow it.” “We have to run this bunch out of Washington D.C.,” Robertson said. “We have to rid the earth of them. Get them out of there.”
Cruz followed Robertson on stage, calling the reality TV star “a joyful, cheerful, unapologetic voice of truth." (Right Wing Watch)
You can watch the bigot's remarks over on Youtube; I'm not putting a video link up here (I'd have to brain bleach myself afterwards...)...but you know what the worst part of his comments were? It wasn't that he tried to use inciteful words to express his thoughts, its' that Robertson couldn't even get the damn comment right (according to Snopes anyway).  Just think about that one before you listen to anything else the duck-haired bigot has to say...

...but to go back to the cruz of the story: this is why we shouldn't stop fighting, folks! Every time the LGBT community wins something, we always start to relax, never remembering that there are those out there - like Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson, for instance - who'd like to shove all of us back into the freaking closet by whatever means possible...which means that even when we, we shouldn't rest on your laurels; think of the words of Napoleon Bonaparte in this regard.....

L'audace, l'audace, toujours l'audace. - Audacity, audacity...always audacity.
....and keep fighting ever onward!

What To Look For In Tonight's Iowa Caucuses

Well, after months of campaigning, the first votes are set to be cast in the Hawkeye State and there are a few things to look for as tonight unfolds....
  • Who will get the mythical "3 Tickets" out of Iowa on the GOP side? Most pundits have the Three Amigos as Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and Marco Rubio; for what its' worth, I can't argue with that but, given the vagaries of the campaign thus far, my question here is going to be who finishes 4th?
  • While its' a 50-50 shot as to who wins on the Democrat side (either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders), the main question is going to be whether those brave few caucus-goers whose first-choice is Martin O'Malley decide to stick with him OR switch to either Hillary or Bernie after the first-round of Democrat voting
Outside of those two sets of questions, it'll be like most caucus nights....long periods of waiting for results.

I should consider the speeches of Livy, Sallust, and Tacitus, as preeminent specimens of logic, taste and that sententious brevity which, using not a word to spare, leaves not a moment for inattention to the hearer. Amplification is the vice of modern oratory. - Thomas Jefferson, letter to David Harding — 1824

University Of Connecticut To Build Blacks-Only Segregated Dorms

....but...but....isn't it racist to insist on having areas set aside for one race over others in regards to public facilities?
The University of Connecticut has recently come under fire for planning to build an all-black male dormitory titled “SCHOLA2RS House” (Scholastic House Of Leaders who are African American Researchers and Scholars).
From UConn’s official website: “Uconn SCHOLA2RS House is a scholastic initiative to groom, nurture, and train the next generation of leaders to address grand challenges in society through the promotion of academic success in undergraduate programs at the University of Connecticut and in competitive graduate programs.” (The Libertarian Republic)
You know, its' one thing for universities to cower to the social justice wankers and provide "safe spaces" to students who "feel offended" by the world at-large, but to provide segregated housing? Given that - I'm assuming here - the university is using public tax-dollars to do this, isn't this just a wee-bit illegal under the 1964 Civil Rights Act? Or does it only apply to things we don't like?
