Its' one thing for the chattering classes to prepare for a contested convention, its' quite another for the money-brokers to do so....
How did we get to this point? By the elites w/in the GOP not paying attention to the grassroots, by continuing to believe that they knew better how to run the party and not the voters themselves...I almost want to say, "GOP, you made your bed, now lie in it" but the outcome there would likely be a President Hillary Clinton and that is a Bridge Over The River Kwai moment that I would hope fellow conservatives never have to engender.Major GOP donors praying for anyone but Donald Trump to emerge as their party’s standard bearer have started to turn their hopes toward a contested convention, a wonky political dream that could finally come true.As donors come to the realization that their non-Trump candidates have little chance of winning the nomination in the upcoming contests, chatter of a contested GOP convention has been dominating fundraising circles in recent days, and donors are beginning to re-evaluate how they can best spend their resources to increase the chances of a contested convention. Citizens by birth or choice of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of Patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discriminations. - George Washington, Farewell Address — 1796

It is therefore highly important that you should endeavor not only to be learned but virtuous. - George Washington, letter to Steptoe Washington — 1790

Oh, the schadenfreude, it burns with her, doesn't it?
That last quote is rich coming from Ms. Harris-Perry for that sums up exactly what she is, an affirmative-action hire whose 15 minutes of usefulness ended a long time ago...MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry made good on her vow to boycott her own show on Saturday, refusing to anchor her weekend program as she wages an extraordinary public war with the executives whom she accuses of having “taken” her show from her.“I will not be used as a tool for their purposes. I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head. I am not owned by [NBC News chairman Andrew] Lack, [MSNBC president Phil] Griffin, or MSNBC. “ (Fusion)
....remember, folks: this woman is still a professor at Wake Forest University; God only knows what she says to the delicate snowflakes she teaches...that is, if she teaches at all.
O sir, we should have fine times, indeed, if, to punish tyrants, it were only sufficient to assemble the people! Your arms, wherewith you could defend yourselves, are gone; and you have no longer an aristocratical, no longer a democratical spirit. Did you ever read of any revolution in a nation, brought about by the punishment of those in power, inflicted by those who had no power at all? - Patrick Henry, speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention — 1788
What makes Watts' words in the video as prescient as they are is the fact that he gave this speech back in the 60's and early 1970's....think about that as you listen.
