Seared Music: Don Henley - "Sunset Grill"

...you know, I'm not a gambling man but I'd bet that if we went to the aforementioned Sunset Grill, we might find people better able to run this country than most of what passes for our elected officials...

Seared Music: Johnny Cash - "The Man In Black"

...an apt song to describe how I feel in regards to the spectre of Donald Trump as the GOP candidate for President...black is a good color; as long as he's the nominee, that's my color of choice, thank you very much...

Seared Music: King's X - "Its' Love"

...if there is one band whose music I can honestly say I love, its' these guys...and for what its' worth, it is simply criminal the way the music world's overlooked King's X over the years. Trust me when I say that you cannot listen to this band and not like their music; if you can listen to them and you still don't like 'em...brother, you ain't human.

Seared Music: Charlie Daniels Band - "The Devil Went Down To Georgia"

Seared Music: Boz Scaggs - "Breakdown Dead Ahead"

Seared Music: Dan Fogelberg - "Leader Of The Band"

...unless you're living under a rock, you probably know by now that music legend/icon Prince has become one with the Ages...I would have one of Prince's songs up above but unfortunately Youtube has a nasty habit of scrubbing them from their site (which I got no problem with; its' their site) so I had to pick a song expressing how a music lover might be feeling this night on this....

...in a sense, Prince was the 80's version of David Bowie back in Bowie's Ziggy Stardust days (with the additional talent of being one hell of a guitarist) and while many tried to figure the man out, I don't think anyone ever succeeded; in a sense, that's what made him so damn successful as a musician (a musician of many talents, for the record) and it was that success that allowed him to stand up to his record label over the years, a fight that most would've blanched from. He was one of two musical acts that simply defied convention for me back in the day - the other being Living Colour - and to listen of Prince's lyrics meant in some respect that you were living out on the musical edge to some degree...which is also why the man's music at times was so damn good; it was almost as if you were giving the rest of society the proverbial finger saying, "Screw you; I'll listen to what I want to, thank you very much!"...and fans loved Prince for it, period.

In a sense, what's really sad about Prince's passing today is that, when you think about how driven and focused the man was at his craft, it reminds us once more that life is fleeting and that we are all, in the end, mortal.

....
...enough said.

Seared Music: The Eagles - "Get Over It"

...this is pretty much what I want to say to all the social conservatives out there who tell all of us w/in the LGBT community to stop bitchin' about all these discriminatory laws that've passed in recent weeks; every time they say something, I tell 'em, in no uncertain terms, "Fuck you, we' ain't leaving; get the hell over it!"

...enough said, folks.

Seared Music: Napoleon XIV - "They're Coming To Take Me Away"

....a better song for what hopefully would be the eventual meltdown of the Trump Campaign is not out there; this is an apt description of the nuthouse that exists over there...
