FBI Director Scathes Clinton Over Emails, No Indictment Recommended

Unless you are living under a rock, you probably heard about FBI Director James Comey - about the most a-political official in Washington at the moment - excoriating Hillary Clinton over her handling of emails while Secretary of State...

I'm of two minds here: on the one hand, HRC has to be breathing a sigh of relief that there won't be an indictment against her, which of course, sent fellow conservatives' heads into a frenzy over it. OTOH, go back and re-read Director Comey's report; he effectively convicted HRC in the Court of Public Opinion, something the Trump Campaign Trumpster Fires will try to use at every available opportunity.

JV Team...

...yes, I don't think just saying the words "radical Islamisc terrorism" does anything to stop these thugs, brigands, thieves and murderers who cloak themselves in the cloth of one of the three great Abramhamic religions...but, at least Obama (and others in power) should at least acknowledge that such a thing does actually exist, that it is a threat to America and that we need to do something about it.

HRC Goes After Trump In Foreign Policy Speech

I'm of two minds on Hillary Clinton's foreign policy speech eviserceration of Donald Trump Thursday in California....for what its' worth, it was a well-versed, cogent and frank speech detailing the threat that Trump would pose not just to America but for the rest of world and as much as I don't care for Hillary Clinton, I'll give her props on the speech: it was a damn good speech.

On the other hand, given, (a) some of her foreign policy failures and (b) the contiuning email server scandal, she's almost in no place to complain about Donald Trump.

National Security Advisor: U.S. National Security Agencies "Too White"

.....and this is important how, Ms. Rice?
White House National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice said Wednesday there are too many white people in key government posts, creating the danger of “groupthink” that could put U.S. security at risk.
Speaking at Florida International University’s commencement, Ms. Rice said a diversified government workforce is more likely to yield “better outcomes” than a predominantly white one.
Referring to criticism that the U.S. national security workforce is “white, male, and Yale,” Ms. Rice told the graduates, “In the halls of power, in the faces of our national security leaders, America is still not fully reflected.” (Fox Nation via. Washington Times)
Suggestion to Ms. Rice: rather than worry about the skin color of the applicants, worry about (a) whether they can do the freakin' job they're hired to do and (b) whether they're loyal to the United States...but what do I know? I'm just a conservative... *sarcastic eyeroll*

Its' A Disgrace...

...and we're supposed to be accommodating to the Mohammedans? WTF?

Trump Delivers Rambling, Isolationist-Tinged Foreign Policy Speech

....if there's a more rambling speech anyone's ever done on foreign policy, please do tell...
A day after sweeping primaries across the Northeast on his march to the Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump sought to boost his commander-in-chief credentials with a speech promising to dramatically upend US foreign policy.
"'America first' will be the major and overriding theme of my administration," Mr Trump said yesterday in Washington, reaching back to a World War II-era isolationist slogan. As president, he pledged, he'll "develop a new foreign policy purpose for our country, one that replaces randomness with purpose, ideology with strategy, and chaos with peace. It's time to shake the rust off America's foreign policy." (Irish Independent)
Now, I've not been the biggest fan of American foreign policy in a while, but there've already been a few things about what should form the basics of U.S. foreign policy that Trump attacked in his speech and the scariest thing about it the more that I read about it is that its' also a foreign policy that makes the seeming chaos of the Obama-Clinton foreign policy look well-organized by comparison.

Trump On Selling Missiles To Iran..., we all know the Donald's supposed to be a master at "the Art of the Deal" and all that, but if he thinks Iran would fall for that, he's even more out to lunch than usual...

Donald Trump Calls Geneva Protections "The Problem"

.....does he realize what a target he's putting on the American military with those kind of words?
Donald Trump believes American troops are afraid to fight for fear of violating the Geneva Conventions, he said Wednesday.
“The problem is we have the Geneva Conventions, all sorts of rules and regulations, so the soldiers are afraid to fight,” Trump said at an afternoon town hall during remarks on torture.
“We can’t waterboard, but they can chop off heads,” Trump said, referring to the United States and the Islamic State, respectively. “I think we’ve got to make some changes, some adjustments.”
The Geneva Conventions, adopted broadly after World War II, govern the treatment of civilians and prisoners of war — including a ban on torture and summary executions. They mirror rules the U.S. adopted in 1882.
Trump has called for changing laws that govern interrogation techniques to “bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding.” Trump has also previously said that American troops would not disobey him if he gave them illegal orders, but he later walked that remark back.
A campaign spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday’s remarks. (Politico)
Now, there's two big reasons why the Donald here is way out in Bizarro World here: (1) With few exceptions - remember Allen West's actions in Iraq c.2004? - American soldiers are taught explicitly not to lower themselves to the level of their enemies in their actions; in Sean Flynn's The Fighting 69th, there's an ancedote from the 1-69ths' time in Iraq when, following a series of IED blasts along the Baghdad Airport Road, the battalion's commander, then-LTC Geoffrey Slack, reminds his troops that they're Americans and that, no matter what the enemy does against them, they're not to stoop down to the enemy's level of fighting. "Always maintain the moral high ground" was the cruz of Slack's words to them. Now, there's one other reason that America upholds the Geneva Conventions and that is that when we are engaged in wars - of any kind - we must always maintain, as Col. Slack told his charges, the moral high ground....even when the enemy, as Trump so blithely puts it, "chops off their heads".

Someone should remind Mr. Trump that we're Americans....we don't torture, period. To do so would be a grave violation of everything Americans hold so damn dear.

Conservatives Call For Border Security In Wake Of Brussels Attacks can we have comprehensive border security?
In the aftermath of Tuesday’s terror attacks in Brussels that left at least 30 dead, conservatives in Congress say that addressing border security is the key to ensuring terrorists don’t end up in the U.S.
In response to a question about how the country can improve its intelligence capabilities, lawmakers attending the monthly event Conversations with Conservatives pointed to securing the border as a way to stop terrorists from striking or entering the U.S..
“We’ve been saying over and over this isn’t about dealing with Mexico. This is dealing with national security,” Rep. Matt Salmon, R-Ariz., told reporters Tuesday. “This dialogue about immigration and all the people that are coming across the border, it doesn’t do justice to the fact that it is a serious security breach, and if we’re going to take seriously dealing with ISIS and other terrorist groups across the globe, then we have to secure the border.” (The Daily Signal)
There's a few things that can be done just off the top of my head....
  • Start enforcing current immigration laws
  • Tighten the visa entry requirements
  • Begin going after visa overstays
  • Increase border security, using a comprehensive mix of physical barriers, active patrolling and heightened surveillance

Team Led By Mohammedan Woman Caught Surveilling Border Patrol Facility

Still think America's southern border doesn't need securing?
A Middle Eastern woman was caught surveilling a U.S. port of entry on the Mexican border holding a sketchbook with Arabic writing and drawings of the facility and its security system, federal law enforcement sources tell Judicial Watch.
The woman has been identified as 23-year-old Leila Abdelrazaq, according to a Customs and Border Patrol (CPB) report obtained by JW this week. Abdelrazaq appeared to have two accomplices, a 31-year-old man named Gabriel Schivone and a 28-year-old woman named Leslie Mcafee. CBP agents noticed the trio “observing the facilities” at the Port of Mariposa in Nogales, Arizona on December 2. Schivone was first noticed inside the entrance of the pedestrian area while the two women stood outside by the entry door, the CPB document states.
When federal officers asked Abdelrazaq why she was drawing sketches of the facilities she “stated because she’s never been to the border,” according to the CBP report. Abdelrazaq resisted showing officers the sketchbook, citing personal reasons, but subsequently handed it over. “During the inspection of the Abdelrazaq sketching book, CBPOs noticed the book contained writings in English and Arabic language,” federal officers write in the document. “There were drawings of what appeared to be vehicle primary inspection area and an additional drawing of pedestrian turn stile gate depicting video surveillance cameras above the gate.” The report proceeds to reveal that the drawings were “partial and incomplete.” (Judicial Watch)
Now, I know I'm not the sharpest tool in the political toolshed, but even I know that when someone's drawing sketches of buildings important to national security - and Border Patrol locations certainly count there - odds are, unless they're architects, they might be up to no good. And it ain't the first time something of this nature has happened; according to the above Judicial Watch report:
  • Five Middle Eastern men were arrested by Border Patrol agents in Amado, Arizona - 30 miles from the border, mind you - with stainless steel cylinders in backpacks, prompting an alert to Homeland Security
  • In Patagonia, Arizona - 20 miles from the Mexican city of Nogales - six men (1 Afghani, 5 Pakistani) were arrested
  • In addition to the two news items above, there are credible reports of ISIS training camps in northern Mexico west Ciudad Juarez
Now, if that last time scares you, remember: Ciudad Juarez is the mirror city to El Paso, Texas...and El Paso is home to one of the Army's largest military bases, Ft. Bliss.

...and people still think we don't need to secure America's southern border?

Rand Paul: Let's Destroy ISIS, Not The Constitution

Say whatever you want about Kentucky's junior senator, but he's right about one thing: what good does it do to go after and destroy ISIS if, in the process, we destroy the Constitution? The problem is, how do you do that? While I still don't see Rand Paul getting anywhere close to the GOP nomination in 2016, it would make sense for the eventual nominee, should they win the White House, to take some advice from Sen. Paul once in a while.

House Passes Bill Toughening Entry For Syrian Refugees

Give the House credit for actually doing something in the face of last week's attacks in Paris....
Wanting to show assertiveness in the aftermath of the Paris terrorist attacks, the House overwhelmingly passed a bill to block Syrian and Iraqi refugees from entering the U.S. unless they pass strict background checks.
In a rush before Thanksgiving to comfort nervous constituents back home, Republicans were boosted by the support of 47 Democrats, who provided enough votes to override a promised veto by President Barack Obama.
The legislation, passed by a 289-137 margin, puts pressure on Senate Democrats, whose leader, Rep. Harry Reid, believes his chamber has the votes to block the bill from being considered.
“For us to sit back and say we are being too harsh, I am here to say we have been too soft for too long, and we have emboldened terrorists,” Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Pa., told The Daily Signal. “We are in crisis management now. I don’t want to be on the receiving line where I lost one of my constituents because they weren’t taken care of.” (The Daily Signal)
Think about that margin in the House for a moment....289 to 137. Given how polarized American politics are at present, that's a major black-eye for the Obama Administration....of course, given who leads the Dumbocrats in the Senate, one wonders if this bill will even face a threatened veto from the White House....
Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) says a House bill suspending the resettlement of Syrian refugees, slated for action Thursday, will not make it to President Obama’s desk. Reid said at a press conference that Democrats will block the legislation that requires the secretary of Homeland Security to affirm to Congress that every refugee being admitted is not a security threat...“The problem is not with refugees,” Reid said. “I don’t think we’ll be dealing with it over here.” When asked about the prospect of Obama vetoing the legislation, Reid said, “Don’t worry, it won’t get passed. Next question?” (Townhall)
.....maybe now could we get around the busting the legislative filibuster, Sen. McConnell? At the very least, the response to Reid's words above should be a warning to Dems'....
House Republican leaders expect the bill to receive yes votes from as many as 50 Democrats in the lower chamber. They warned Democrats will pay the price politically next year if they block it. “We’ll crucify them,” said a senior House GOP aide. (Townhall)
....that if they do filibuster this bill and a subsequent terrorist attack were to happen....if it were tied to a Syrian 'refugee', there would be political hell to play.

Question For The Obama Dumbasses....

Following the attacks in Paris this past Friday, the French military bombed numerous targets in Syria....including a command-control center in the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa. Question to the dumbasses on the Left: We've been bombing them - supposedly - for months now....why do they still have a freakin' command/control center for the French to bomb?

Terror's Progressive Accomplices

There's a great article over at the Patriot Post on the Paris attacks and the feckless attitude of the Obama Administration towards America's place in the world - and the resulting power vacuum that came by our withdrawing from the world - and FWIW, Arnold Ahlert hits it square on the head.

I'll go one step further: what we are facing in the West isn't just a fight against violent extremism or against radical Islam....what we are facing in the West is a civilizational war in which there is going to be no middle ground, there no neutrals. Its' a fight that frankly, I don't think Obama & Company have the stomach for because if they actually gave a damn about America, they'd realize their whole strategy towards the Middle East these past 6 years was wrong, it was weak and its' frankly not working; we've thrown long-time allies under the bus, refused to lend even moral support to those seeking freedom and overall shown a weakness that one didn't even think America could show.

All on the progressive left. All. That.

Giuliani: ISIS Is Obama's Creation

As much as I disagreed with America going to war in Iraq back in 2003, I can't argue w/Giuliani here; our withdrawal from the country at the end of 2011 led to the rise of ISIS in Iraq & Syria. Nature abhors a geo-political vacuum and this dunderhead of a president effectively threw away the blood, sweat and tears of our servicemembers to satiate his campaign promises. For what it is worth, I would love to see someone say to him in public, "The blood of those victims in Paris is on your hands, sir! J'accuse!"

Senate Democrats Mount Yet Another Filibuster Of Defense Bill

Why do Democrats hate the American military?
Senate Democrats launched a third consecutive filibuster of the bipartisan defense appropriations bill yesterday, once again blocking consideration of legislation that would fund the United States military and pay members of our armed forces. (Townhall)
And the reason? Partisan politics, of course...
(...) the ostensible reason that Democrats have engaged in this obstruction over recent months -- which also entailed filibustering the Veterans Affairs appropriations bill -- was to exploit the troops and veterans as leverage to force Republicans to agree to higher federal spending on unrelated matters. It was a cynical play, but thanks in part to President Obama's hyper-partisan veto, it worked. Leadership in both houses huddled together and hammered out a noxious budget deal that raised spending caps on both defense and domestic discretionary spending, relying on gimmicks to "pay for" the increased outlays. (Townhall)
A little background: a few weeks ago, just before Speaker Boehner left, Congress passes a budget that fully funds the government through March 2017 or thereabouts; part of the budget deal was a $40 billion increase in budget caps for both defense & non-defense budget items. Now, given the state of the U.S. military at present, that was a necessary evil, but now, the Democrats' won't even allow the bill authorizing the military's spending under the budget agreement to go through.

Like I said earlier, why does the Democrat Party hate our military? Why?

Pompeo to HRC: 600 Requests For More Benghazi Security Were Ignored

Think about this scenario: you have a consulate, in a foreign country still just coming out from both 4 decades of autocratic rule and a violent civil war that deposed said autocrat, located in a dangerous area of the country. Said consulate makes request after request after get the idea; makes numerous requests for additional security assets...only to have said requests blown off by the powers-that-be in Washington.

Well, that consulate was the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, which was attacked on Sept. 11th, 2012 by Islamic terrorists, resulting in the deaths of four individuals - including Amb. Stevens...and despite making over 600 requests for security assistance to the State Dept., they were all ignored. That was the premise of a line of questioning by Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS) at today's Benghazi hearings with former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton:
One of the astonishing facts that emerged during today’s Select Committee hearing was that State Department personnel in Libya made approximately 600 requests for better security in Benghazi, all of them apparently unheeded by Hillary Clinton. With respect to one of the 600 requests, Hillary said, “Well, Congresswoman, one of the great attributes that Chris Stevens had was a really good sense of humor. And I just see him smiling as he’s typing this.” Somehow, I doubt that.
There is a clip where Congressman Mike Pompeo walks Hillary through the security requests quarter by quarter, but that doesn’t seem to be available on YouTube. In the clip below, Pompeo has already established the 600 number and questions Hillary about the difference between Sid Blumenthal, whose emails unfailingly arrived in Hillary’s in box, and her own personnel, who didn’t have similar access–she had no official email address–and apparently were unable to bring any of 600 requests for help to her attention. (Power Line Blog) - (Here's a link to the clip over at Power Line Blog.
Now, think about that for a moment...apparently, she couldn't find the time to upgrade security at one of her consulates, but she had time to discuss things with Clinton operative Sidney Blumenthal, who according to most sources, was blacklisted by the Obama Administration from working with HRC. Worse, as Hinderaker mentions, she also apparently found time to throw the late ambassador under-the-bus during her testimony.

And Americans think she should be the next President?!? She should be wearing prison stripes over this, not supervising the federal prison system.
